26-12-24 Charlie us a timid little chap who has come from his breeder to find a loving home. He is such a beautiful boy but he is filled with worry and needs the reassurance of a kind resident dog to take comfort from in his new home. Little Charlie doesnt understand home life yet and so will need to learn new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead from scratch. He will need your patience as it could take a while for him to get things right and will need your reassurance and kindness. In time he will find his feet and begn to love his new way of life and we can envisage him being quite the cheeky chap!! He needs a calm home with understanding adopters. Charlie can sometimes walk with a bit of a terrier hop, but requires no further investigation for this at this time.
12-01-25 UPDATE
I met Charlie for the first time today and he was very shy. At first he ran away from me, so I spent some time on the floor with a treat but he still wouldn’t come to me. After a while his kennel staff came in and he still didn’t want to approach us and stood there shaking. He has been having harnesses training to encourage him to learn to walk and was happy to let someone he knows put the lead on him, and then he went for a short walk quite happily. While out he was a little nervous of his surroundings, but once in the yard he ran around very happily! He continues to gain confidence each day, although he will still need a quiet home and another resident dog to help him continue to build confidence and show him how to live in a home. He is going to take some time to adjust and trust but I’m sure he will blossom in to a wonderful addition to his forever family!
04-02-25 UPDATE
Charlie is such a sweet boy who although nervous of people, absolutely adores his walks and just tootles along next to you beautifully. He gets on with other dogs well, male or female, but does seem to prefer females. Charlie is nervous and doesn't want to be near people too much, but will take a treat and is fine to put the harness on. In a home, I don't think it'll take him long to really come out of his shell. Hopefully he doesn't have to wait much longer to find his forever family.
14-02-25 UPDATE
Charlie has been with me in foster for 5 days now and he’s so easy to have around. He’s been completely clean inside, sleeps through the night, and he’s been excellent with my resident dog + cat. He loves his walks, he’s more confident out and about than at home at the moment. He still finds humans scary, but he’s starting to learn that I’m okay and will pop himself on the sofa near me for a snooze, and let me give him a stroke and a scratch. Please don’t keep this sweet boy waiting long.
25-02-2025 UPDATE
Charlie has been with me in foster for over 2 weeks now and he is growing in confidence. He happily greets me in the morning, and whilst still wary of human contact is starting to accept more strokes, pets and scratches. He snuggles right up next to me on the sofa and watches tv. He is perfectly toilet trained, fantastic on the lead, and generally just so easy to have around. He will need someone with patience to let him learn to trust in his own time, and a kind resident dog to help boost his confidence.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
