02-02-25 Narla is a beautiful, girl who has come to us from a home as her owner could no longer look after her. She is the most lovely girl who doesn't like loud noises so we will be looking for an adult only home and she would be best suited with adopters who have experience with Dogue de Bordeaux's or similar large breeds.
Narla has always lived as an only dog so ideally will be looking for a home where she can be the only dog and get all the fuss and attention to herself. However, we are told that she is good with other dogs, so if it was the right match we would consider homing her with another dog but she can bark at cats, so we will be looking for a cat free home for Nala.
She can be a little wary at the moment, which is understandable considering she has had a big change in circumstances, but she soon warms up to you and just loves a bum scratch and then will start pawing you for more fuss!
We are told that Narla is house trained, but as she has been in kennels she may need some reminders about this in her new home as she settles in. She can suffer with itchy skin and has Piriton to help this.
Narla is a sweet girl who has been very well loved. She loves to go on walks and adventures and is a clever girl who knows "sit", "paw", "down" and "wait". She has been trained to not touch her food or take a treat until she is told she can. She is happy to be left home for short periods and overnight she sleeps in her own room on her very own comfy chair. She loves treats and some of her favourite rewards are apples and cheese!
Narla is a wonderful girl, who will be any Dogue de Bordeaux lovers dream dog! In the right home she is going to truly thrive and we cannot wait to see her in her forever home.
28-02-2025 UPDATE
What a lady! She is wary of new people initially, but once you earn her trust (I went at her pace and followed her lead) she is the sweetest lady who is so worried about world and the things that exist in it. She does get spooked by loud noises or sudden movements, she is strong when spooked so will need someone who can hold her in these situations, but she walks beautifully 99% of the time and just tootles along beside you when she feels relaxed. She loves playing with other dogs and is respectful of them. Narla has had her whole world flipped upside down and although she is struggling, she still tries to trust humans. You just have to understand that it isn't an instant bond and you will have to allow her to come to you at her pace.
