13-12-24 Wave has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She does have a cherry eye on her right eye and our vets will take a look at this and repair it. She is a sensitive girl who is very worried to find herself here and is unsure of everything at the moment. She really relies on other dogs for comfort and so will need a home where there is at least one other kind and confident resident dog who will be her friend. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding while she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. She is such a sweet girl who just needs lots of love and kindness to come out of her shell and it will be so worth it when you see her tail wag for the first time. She has a PETS travel document.
17-12-24 UPDATE
Wave has now had her cherry eye repaired by the vet and is recovering well, our vets have also noted that she has a scar on this eye too.
07-01-25 UPDATE
Unfortunately Waves cherry eye returned, but she has now had it repaired for a second time and is recovering well.
23-01-25 UPDATE
Wave has been on my section for about 2 weeks now and I am absolutely in love with her. The way she looks at me could make my heart burst every time … just look at those eyes! So soulful and mesmerising. She’s made a lot of progress in the short amount of time she’s been with us and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s learning more and more every day that humans can be kind and I can really see how desperate she is for love and affection. She jumps up onto my knees ever so gently to have a fuss under her ears and she’ll put her head closer to mine every time I stop as her way of asking for more.
As you can probably tell from her new photo's, her second cherry eye repair has worked and it has stayed in! We are very hopeful it will stay this way.
Wave is a very typical Beagle in a lot of ways, so a Beagle experienced home would be absolutely perfect for her. She loves her food, toys, and stealing things she shouldn’t!! She’s full of life when in the yard and loves to play chase with her kennel friends. Having her own garden to frolic around in would be a dream come true for her I think.
I think she will need a slightly quieter home without young children and will definitely need at least one other dog in the home to give her confidence and to show her how to live in a home. I’m sure once she knows you she will blossom.
15-02-25 UPDATE
Wave has been in foster for nearly a week now and is settling into home life very well. She sleeps downstairs with all the other dogs all night. She is loving being able to run around our large garden and play with the other dogs. Wave loves to cuddle up on the sofa with her canine and human friends. We do have to make sure she is playing with the correct toys as she has not had them before and needs to learn what she can play with. She loves going for a sniffy walk on a secure harness and lead. Wave has been out in the car a few times and travels well. As with most beagles Wave loves her food and is fed with a slow feeder to help slow her down when eating.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
