20-11-2024 Opal has come a long way to be with us, she is from a breeder. She is an extremely nervous girl who doesn't approach us and is very worried about being touched and handled. She will come to you when she is with her kennel mates as she relies on them heavily, because of this she will need another kind of resident dog to help her settle into home life. She will need an adult only and very experienced home who have had scared dogs before and understand how to work with Opal to overcome her fears. Opal will need a helping paw with house manners such as toilet training, lead walking and also getting used to house sounds she made of not heard before such as the TV, Hoover and air fryer! Opal is a very sweet girl with love in her eyes she just needs some time and patience to help her know that not all humans are bad. She comes with a PETS travel document.
29-12-24 UPDATE
Opal is a very timid lady in need of lots of love and care to help her begin her journey into the world outside of kennels. Opal would be best suited to a quiet, understanding home where there will be at least one other dog to be her friend. She would need a child free home as she would find them too overwhelming at the moment. Opal is one of our very special souls that really needs a whole lot of love, kindness, support and a great deal of patience. Opal has a good heart and we know there’s a lovely little dog inside her timid exterior we just need to find her that truly special person who can give this lady the loving home she deserves.
21-01-2025 UPDATE
Opal moved into foster 2 weeks ago and she immediately found comfort in my old dog Dotty , she is so such a scared little poppet and leans on the dogs for support and guidance so much . She sleeps in the kitchen snuggled up to them and is so gentle and timid to all she meets . she has no idea what safe feels like yet.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
