07-10-2024 Bruno is a delightful boy that has come to us from a breeder to find his forever home. He has an undershot jaw as well as some sore skin and cherry eye which our vet will take a look at. He is a little on the shy side, but once he gets comfortable his confidence grows and he is happy to come say hello. He is very sweet natured and may jump a little initially but once he settles down he is happy to have a gentle fuss. Bruno would suit best with a gentle and kind resident dog to have as a companion and to rely on while he settles into his new home. Boisterous dogs would be too much for this gentle soul. We would consider homing him with teenagers and upwards. He is able to walk on a lead but may need some additional guidance on house trainings as he has not had the chance to learn yet. Bruno is a gorgeous man that is looking for a home that will allow him to grow his confidence and become the charming boy he is already showing to be!
09-10-24 UPDATE
Bruno has had his cherry eyes repaired at the time of his neuter and is recovering well and is currently on eye drops once daily which will be ongoing.
25-10-24 UPDATE
Bruno is a lovely, affectionate boy with plenty of love to share! The progress he has made since arriving at Many Tears is incredible. Every time I enter his kennel he greets me with the best welcome, so you will definitely have that to look forward to in a home. He is excellent with other dogs, and has been kennelled with all different sizes, both male and female. Even though he is very confident, I do believe homing him with another dog will be the best for him as he loves other dogs and does gain a bit of confidence around them. Also, as Bruno has never lived in a home before, having another dog there will encourage him all the good habits and will help him learn what he should do and what he shouldn't. If you are a Bulldog lover then Bruno is your man. Please don't keep this handsome boy waiting any longer.
11-11-24 UPDATE
Bruno is progressing at a slow but steady pace here at the rescue and although still nervous at first, he does make an effort to approach and even enjoys a gentle slow fuss! This handsome boy doesn’t have a bad bone in his body but due to the other dogs on his section being so upfront and excitable he sadly tends to get overlooked by people on show arounds. If you have a Bruno sized space in your heart and house please don’t hesitate to come and visit this wonderful boy
22-12-2024 UPDATE
It's a very wet and windy day here at the rescue today, so I spent some time with Bruno and his kennel buddy, Lost the Springer, under the heat lamp in the back of their kennel. He is a shy boy but I can see that he is trying really hard to gain confidence and from what I have been told he is definitely progressing and he has come along so well since being here. He allowed me to give him a fuss although was a bit nervous of me touching his head, this could be because he currently has to have eye drops, but I think eventually he will learn to love a head scratch. Bruno gets along well with his kennel friends and has been a model dog since being here, there have been no issues with him. He is such a lovely boy, as stated in a previous update he keeps getting overlooked through no fault of his own, all he wants is to be loved and in time I know will show you so much love in return. If you want to give him the greatest Christmas ever then please consider adopting him, he will fill your home and your heart with so much love and happiness.
04-01-25 UPDATE
My beautiful boy Bruno, where do I start? He’s only been on my section for a few weeks but I am absolutely besotted by him. He’s the kindest soul and is so funny to watch when he goes down our big play yard, he will keep you entertained for hours.
He’s really coming out of his shell, when he first went down our big yard he just stood next to me looking up at me wondering what he should do, but after a few times he now runs around so happy chasing the ball. I still think a resident dog in the home will benefit Bruno massively as he can be a little unsure sometimes, he gets on well with every dog he meets so matching him with a resident dog will be easy.
He still gets nervous and squints his eyes when you go to touch his head but as stated in the previous update I believe this is because he had his cherry eyes repaired and has been on several eye drops for weeks which I don’t think he likes very much but he always gets some squeezy cheese after wards for some positive reinforcement.
As much as I love having this boy on my section I pray that he doesn’t get over looked much longer as he really is a super star and deserves a home to call his own.
Poor Bruno had to have a second op to repair his cherry eyes which has now been done and hw will need eye drops ongoing to help.
10-01-25 UPDATE
Bruno's cherry eyes were repaired back in October. Sadly, the cherry eye in his left eye has started to protude again, but our vet would not operate again at this stage, but it might require a further operation in future, which would not be covered by insurance. He is currently on eye drops once daily which will be ongoing.
14-01-25 UPDATE
Bruno has been with us a week now and is a little superstar. He’s settled in as if he’s always been here. He is still nervous of loud noises and fast movements but this is improving day by day. He is clean in the house, sleeps through the night, can be left for short periods without incident and is generally a happy little boy. He LOVES his food so training will be easy, we are still working on him learning his name and generic commands that the other dogs follow and he can copy but he is proving to be a quick study as demonstrated with his house training. He loves his walks and a good sniff. Has met dogs of all sizes without incident although was terrified of a fairly aggressive Jack Russell and struggled to cope with a very boisterous bulldog so very OTT dogs in the home wouldn’t suit him as he’s too gentle. His lead walking is improving, he’s not a puller but does zigzag! Oh and he found a sandwich one morning which he REALLY wanted so that was a bit of a battle of wills to get him away from. Overall he’s a lovely boy who will make a great addition to a family who want to build on his confidence and watch him grow into the fun dog he is.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
