08-01-2025 This little star is Wonder, she originally came to us from a breeder a few years ago and was adopted but has sadly been returned due to her owners ill health. She is a very beautiful lady and an extremely affectionate girl who will slowly approach you and then bury her head into your lap for a neck scratch and she will stay there all day! Wonder is a little shy but after some time (and this doesn't take very long!) she will become your best friend and wants all the fuss and kisses.
Wonder walks on the lead and and we are told she is house trained.  She really enjoys her walks so someone who would keep her active would be ideal. We are told she gets worried when she is left alone for too long so her adopters will need to work on this with her and keep her both mentally and physically stimulated to help reduce boredom and stress. She can also bark around men, but we will start working on this with her at the rescue.
Wonder is cross eyed and doesn't have the best eye sight but copes incredibly well with this. We are told that she has had possible absent seizures, she has had two in the past but hasn't had one for a year now and although she was on medication at the time, she is no longer on any medication for this and is doing well. She did have to have surgery in the past to remove a corn on the cob that she had eaten, but she made a full recovery from this. Wonder is a beautiful girl that deserves to be loved and spoiled the way she has always meant to have been!

02-02-2025 UPDATE

Wonder has been in foster for a week now so it is still early days but she is proving to be an excellent guest and is relaxing more each day ! She has a very sweet nature and has been perfect with my own ex Many Tears Labradors, my cats and even the rabbits! In the house, Wonder loves relaxing on the sofa and dinner time! When I have visitors she may woof a couple of times, but quickly settles. She is slightly more wary of my visiting adult sons but, after a few minutes, will curl up beside them. She is house trained and sleeps quietly all night on her bed with my dogs, in my bedroom. Wonder loves going out and gets excited when she sees her lead. She behaves beautifully in the park and has greeted dogs big and small, of both sexes, in a friendly manner. Wonder has not yet met my little grandchildren but will do so soon.
Wonder was very anxious if I just left the room in the first few days but she is already doing much better with this. Today, I went to visit a friend and was out for over an hour. Wonder was kept busy with a stuffed Kong and then did pace a little but she did not bark. I believe Wonder would be happiest with owners who were around much of the time but, as she is feeling more secure, she is already coping much better with me leaving her. Wonder will need another gentle dog in her new home.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
